this past sunday my partner troy(mounthis)
and i got to try out our friend scott bussens new charter boat the Relentless.
It's a 40 foot tores. the vessel is a tank it felt empty with the 3 of us
heading out to the fishing grounds. cobia have invaded the port canaveral
waters in pretty good numbers so our plan was to fish a few wrecks until
the sun got high enough and the wind to drop out a bit.
soon after dropping the anchor we find what we were looking for.
then capt.scott gets a grey on the bb gun.
as we settle in and make ourselves at home the fish fire off pretty good.
troy adds a red snapper to the box.
then some decent mangrove snapper started to bite.
i add a grey to the box after breaking off to many to count.
troy gets a surprise jewfish.
followed by a large sheepshead capt.scott catches on a live threadfin herring.
another gag grouper hits the box.
we decied sight fishing for cobia will not be in our plans for the day.
after a few more break offs i add a good grouper to the fishbox.
troy and i snap off a few more pics and get the boat cleaned up and head
for the barn.
for me this was the perfect day - getting on a good bite of fish with some
of my best friends. the staff and our families are happy cause they have
fresh fish in the freezer again.
