The ocean showed little sign of calming down for 5/2. Like the Kirkland party, the Eastman party was tuned up and ready. Ended up with a couple good gags and three amberjack. What the barrel doesn’t show is the amount of action we actually had. We threw back countless big red snapper and lost more…
Opening day of grouper season had the seas running 3′-5′, so it wasn’t a day for the timid. The Kirkland party was up to the task and chomping at the bit to get some grouper. Managed to capture three gags, including a 40.6 lber to take the lead in the Johnny Longfish Year Long Captains…
The ocean was beautiful today and the fishing was ok. Managed to catch five pretty nice mahi, a triggerfish and a banded rudder fish.
Trip Report 4/23/16. It was another fairly rough ocean, but the mahi cooperated pretty well. Ended up with 11 dolphin and a sailfish release.
Trip report 4/21/16. It was quite sporty offshore, but the Illinois crew wanted to try getting offshore before they headed back. We braved the 4′ to 6′ seas and were handsomely rewarded with thirteen Mahi Mahi and a barracuda!
